Vegetables are one of the most important pieces of the puzzle when it comes to having a healthy diet. But a lot of us find it difficult to get in the recommended servings of them every day. We're busy! So here are 4 hacks to help you get there.
1) Veggie Soup & Chili
One hack is to make a veggie soup. Just throw in a whole bunch of veggies that you have in your fridge! And you can do the exact same thing with chili.
The second hack is to make a smoothie. You can make a smoothie that is fruit based, but you can also add vegetables like cucumber or celery or spinach. These are vegetables that you don't really taste!
3) Powdered Vegetable Supplement
If I was working with someone who really had difficulty getting enough servings of vegetables, I would tell them that they can add a powdered vegetable supplement to their smoothie. You can get three or four servings of vegetables without actually having to eat them!
4) Stock Up!
Another important 'hack' is just to have a lot of vegetables in your fridge. You're not going to let them go bad! Just by having them there, you'll be more likely to eat them.
But the most important thing to keep in mind is to find ways and recipes that you actually enjoy!
I hope this helps with your journey to eating a nutritious and balanced diet.
